Portrush will enjoy a beach party this summer after all!
One of the UK’s biggest live acts and Grammy award winners, The Chemical Brothers, will headline the first ever ‘LIVE in Portrush’ concert at East Strand car park in the seaside town on Saturday 14th June.
Lisburn based event promoters PLM Promotions and Col Hamilton Promoter of award winning Portrush nightclub Lush! have teamed up and saved the day by delivering a stunning line up which will also see DJ performances from an array of chart-topping international acts and DJs including Fedde LeGrand (Put Your Hands Up for Detroit/The Creeps), Eric Prydz (Pryda/mouseville), Utah Saints (Something Good 08), DJ Steve Angello and Chemical Brothers’ tour DJ James Holroyd.
The Chemical Brothers are the electronic music duo of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons. Along with The Prodigy and Fat Boy Slim, The Chemicals were the pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre and are famous for their high-quality live performances. They are credited as being one of the few truly arena-sized electronic acts.
The Chemical Brothers have also played at many major festivals, from Glastonbury to Reading and currently hold the record for most gigs performed in a year at London’s Brixton Academy.

Their album, ‘Push The Button’ and single ‘Galvanize’ won a Grammy at the Grammy Awards two years ago and they also had a major Top Ten hit with perhaps their most well-known single ‘Hey Boy Hey Girl.’
A measure of their worldwide appeal came last September when they took over the streets of downtown Los Angeles at the 13th Annual Nocturnal Wonderland Festival.
On behalf of co-promoters PLM Promotions, Eddie Wray said, "After months of planning, we have worked extremely hard at the eleventh hour to ensure that this magnificent show takes place in Portrush this year. PLM Promotions are proud to again provide the Northern Ireland public with another groundbreaking event. I would like to thank Coleraine Borough Council and their officials for having the determination to ensure that this event happens this year."
Co-promoter Col Hamilton said, "I am absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to promote an event of this size and stature in my local area. I was massively disappointed when I heard that there was going to be no Beach Party this year, so I decided to take the bull by the horns and here we are. I can promise everyone attending that LIVE In Portrush will be the best day of their lives."
The festival-styled LIVE in Portrush event will run from 3pm until 11pm and will feature a host of special additions to the event, including funfair rides.
This fully licensed event is Over 18s only. ID will be requested.
